I have known for quite sometime that I have needed to loose weight, like 100 lbs. My weight doesn't show much and people don't believe me when I tell them how much I weigh but it's there. I feel it in my aching joints and back. Mind I haven't gained any weight in 14 years but I haven't lost any either.
I got some news from the doctor that I didn't like, I am pre diabetic. So, change is in the wind. I cannot give myself a shot and I don't want to have to take more pills than I already do, which are few, but still.... So, I talked to my husband today and we are getting an incline treadmill and an exercise bike to put in the den. We don't really use the den for much so I think it would be a good use of the room. Cannot help but want to buy the stuff when it's 50% off. My schedule is so busy that getting outdoors to actually exercise is not really a possibility so the treadmill and bike will suffice. I've managed to lose 5 lbs over the Christmas break but I need to do more. Not to mention that it will help my achy joints relax and make me sleep better. I'll post some pics when we get the room set up. Going to have to have a laptop holder so I can watch podcasts while walking or riding.
On the knitting front it has been steady on. I am down to the last sleeve on dh's sweater and I am working on my cowl, yes I cast on another one! I finished my mohair/silk on and cast on an alpaca one with some deep stash. It is turning out lovely and I cannot wait to get it finished and wear it. I thought the mohair would be itchy, so many people say it is and I'm prone to have sensitive skin but I love the mohair! It is so soft and beautiful. Here's a pic of it finished:
